Lucian gazed in wonder at the grandieur of the council room, it was many times larger than the throne room and almost as grand, it was long and wide. Fine wood covered the floor and walls and the ceiling had a very beautifully painted picture of various mythical monsters. The bulk of the room was occupied by a long rectangular table, a soft hue of brown like the walls, and the many chairs around it. At the very end of the table was a throne, much like the one in the throne room.
"Wonderful, ain't it?" Leon whispered.
"Very. How come the rooms are covered with wood and the hallways are rock?" Lucian kept his eyes on the painting above him.
"A matter of comfort and budget." Leon's voice changed into a slightly more sophisticated tone, "Would you rather be comfortable when walking from room to room or would you rather be comfortable in a room?"
"I see.. You stole these designs from our world too?"
"Stole? No, we took them and modified it. It isn't as grand as your world's designs, but it'll do."
"I'm hungry, I was eating when your weird men in cloaks took my lunch from me."
"Those are the Elders, mind you!" Leon shrieked in a hushed tone, "They are part of the council, the strongest spellcasters in Fis Aera." The guard's voice returned to normal, "As for food.. Would you like to eat in the dining hall or would you rather eat in your quarters?"
"If I were to eat in the dining hall, I'd attract a lot of attention. wouldn't I? With me being new and all." Lucian was gazing at something intangible.
"A wise observation, the Elders were right. And apparently, so was Emperor Besimar. You are a sharp one."
"Thanks, I think. I'll eat in my quarters, thank you . And will Felicity be there?" Lucian felt awkward being praised. What disturbed him more was that an emperor knew of him before he even knew this world existed.
"No, she's busy at the moment, she will meet you as soon as she can, though" Leon sounded sure, "I'll get you a cheeseburger to replace the one you lost and some meat. No soft drinks though, will some whiskey be enough?"
"Your world copied more than clothing and designs, huh? Even took our food." Lucian's voice was filled with excitement.
"That, we did, sir."
Lucian followed Leon to where he would stay and thanked Leon ferverently later. "I'll still have to give you the complete tour next time, this one was cut short because your stomach couldn't wait." Leon winked.
"Yes, hopefully soon, too."
Lucian was left alone in his room and decided to look around. There was a king sized bed with a crimson red blanket in one corner of the room, a large wardrobe, a golden framed mirror, a small dressing table, a bookshelf loaded with large, thick books and another door, probably leading to a washroom.
He approached the bed and felt the blanket's material, it felt smooth, wonderful and seemed to bring him a sense of euphoria. It's like magic, thought Lucian, he then hit himself in the head. Duh, it is magic. He then walked to a finely crafted wooden wardrobe and opened it. The wardrobe was filled with clothing from his own home cupboard. They even made copies of my own clothing, at least now I get to wear long sleeved shirts and long baggy pants everyday until I get home. He then noticed a few cloaks much like the ones the Elders had, except it was brown.
Before he got to take a look at the large mirror or the washroom, a knock came from the door he had entered earlier on and he opened it. Someone kicked him in the head before he got to see who it was and his vision receded into darkness.
